I am originally from Texas and grew up in the West Texas town of El Paso. My mother raised us and taught us simply to be the best we could be at whatever we choose. I attended Texas Tech University where I majored in Cell and Molecular Biology and decided to pursue a career in Medicine. I graduated from Stanford Medical School and went on to complete my Pediatric residency at Children’s Hospital Oakland. After residency I began working as a Pediatric Hospitalist delivering babies, and caring for babies in the neonatal intensive care unit and Pediatric Ward working for the Watsonville Community Hospital which is under the direction of Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital and the Stanford Pediatric Hospitalist team in Pleasanton. Although I enjoyed working in the hospital, I knew I could make a bigger impact keeping my patients out of the hospital working as a community physician. I joined Tri-Valley Pediatrics in the summer of 2000.
I am a Board Certified Pediatrician and Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. I currently serve as chair of the Tri-Valley School District Advisory Committee. I am a Clinical Instructor for UCSF Medical School. I started the successful Hand-Washing Campaign at my daughter’s school at Dublin Green Elementary. I am proud to serve as the Chief Medical Director of the School of Imagination’s yearly Autism outreach and screening campaign. I have a special interest at caring for children with special needs, and also for children with asthma and allergies. I believe in the philosophy of caring for other children the way I would care for my own.
