Namita Agarwal, M.D.
I was born in Illinois after my parents immigrated to the United States from India in 1967. I grew up along the southern coast of Maine, where I greatly enjoyed the outdoors and the beautiful change of seasons.
I have wanted to be a pediatrician ever since I was ten years old because even at that age, I enjoyed taking care of my younger brother and babysitting other younger children. In order to accomplish this, I completed my undergraduate education with a B.A. in biology from Bowdoin College in 1990, and in 1995, I graduated from the Boston University School of Medicine. I then did my internship and residency training in pediatrics with Kaiser Permanente in Oakland, California. Since then, I have found the practice of pediatrics to be highly rewarding, and I am very happy to be a part of the TriValley Pediatric Group, a group which shares my passion for the care of children.
In addition to caring for children, I enjoy working with families to help their children stay healthy and strong. I especially value the role of parents, community and culture in shaping a child’s growth and development. I strongly believe that together, pediatricians and parents can help nurture kids when they are sick and help keep them healthy. It is very satisfying for me to watch children as they grow from infants to adults.
I currently live in San Ramon with my two wonderful children and husband. We are very involved with our local community and with our children’s schools. During our spare time, we enjoy outdoor activities, sports, reading and traveling.
